THE GUIDELINE FOR BREAKTHROUGHS – PART TWO
EWOC – 1.6.2019
3. DOING THE RIGHT THING – Will Show You God’s Glory
Excuses will keep you away from doing the right thing.
Do what is right, not what is easy.
The truth of the matter is that you always know the right thing to do. The hard part is doing it.
C.S. Lewis said: ”Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. ”
Theodore Roosevelt said: Knowing what’s right doesn’t mean much unless you do what’s right.
Apart from Christ we can’t do the right thing. We all fall short of God’s Glory. God is a holy God and demands perfection.
Romans 8:28-30 NLT
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.
It is actually being at the right place at the right time and doing the right thing that causes us to receive favors, healings and blessings.
It is God, who holds time and chance in His hands; is the only one who can put you at the right place at the right time and doing the right thing is where all the great opportunities are.
He will place you at the RIGHT PLACE at the RIGHT TIME, where you will meet the right people, do the RIGHT THINGS, get the big break people talk about and even be delivered from danger.
For Christians, doing the right thing isn’t just an occasional moral dilemma, it’s a way of life.
1. Do what’s right Biblically
Righteousness is defined by the Scriptures, not by what we feel or think. Jesus said that man lives by God’s word (Matt. 4:4), not his own desires. Doing right according to God’s word is the right way to do right.
2. Expect opposition
Although doing the right thing gets a lot of lip service, when it actually happens people usually get upset. Right reveals wrong and people don’t like to be told they’re wrong. The Jews loved Jesus until His righteousness began opposing their sinfulness.
3. Be prepared to pay the price
Understanding and choosing to do the right thing is exhilarating at first but sooner or later there will be a price to pay.
Jesus did the right thing all of His life and look at what the world did to Him.
BUT THE OUTCOME IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Of course, in our zeal to do the right thing let’s also remember that mistakes are inevitable.
It’s one thing to want to do right, quite another to always do it. Jesus died on the cross to make up for all the times we don’t get it right.
If God is willing to forgive us, we should give ourselves a break as well.
